Repent sinners!

From Liv Films, an editorial about gay marriage, fat marriage, eating lobsters, and more. Mona of Liv Films was the “Ron Paul Girl,” but most of their recent work has been non-political. LMFAO (laughing my fat ass off)….

  1. I guess the Biblical reference that implies a fetus is not a lawful person, but instead the father’s chattel, the material value of which was dependent upon the capriciousness of individual judges, was too hot for them to mention, or they were unaware of it:

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. – Exodus 21:22

  2. I don’t know whether it was a question of knowing about it, or whether it fit the point they were trying to make…

The film was a satirical look at the gay marriage issue, with comparison to other activities which the typical anti-gay-marriage person watching might consider “normal” and “acceptable” but which the same general part of the Bible considers deadly sins…

The Exodus quote is an important one when attempting to show that the Bible is pro-choice (along with all the multiple references that imply that Life begins, or is associated with, Breath – something a fetus doesn’t do) – but it doesn’t fit the script, especially since the odds are pretty good that a rabidly anti-gay-marriage person is likely to be anti-choice as well…

I think the video was well done and the Exodus quote would have detracted from it, not added to it.

  3. Very good response, AT, and quite right. I admit I was trolling a bit with the reply, btw. Call it a test. Still, the cited verse comes just one chapter after the Ten Commandments, not a whole book like Leviticus.

I am fond of the clean/unclean bugs in The bible though:

Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

    Leviticus 11:21,22

That’s right when it comes to eating bugs, The Bible says you can eat: “every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth”, Something to remember the next time you are lost in the woods. Better not eat any worms, they are an abomination to you, but it seems that a flying cockroach is OK…
