Molyneux on Anarchy

  1. Interesting. Not entirely convincing, but at least he is answering the valid objections of those skeptical of anarchy.

Next experiment: set up a DRO to grant Cuban expatriates restitution for property robbed by Castro. Then, one that enforces the property/civil rights of Tibetans vs. the People’s Republic of China.

  2. A fascinating argument by Mr. Molyneux. Or, as he says at the end, “trippy.” But, I think he is exactly correct. The state itself, and the set of states in the world, operate on anarchic principles. Who shall guard us from the guards themselves?

  3. Carl – you’ll have a hard time setting up a DRO to grant restitution for an insurance peril that’s already occurred. Try getting homeowners insurance, pretty easy, right?

Next time you call, tell them that your house is already on fire (or already burnt down). Think you can still get a policy?
