LP tackles raging Boehner!

In response to House GOP leader John Boehner’s comments to Reason‘s Dave Weigel — that conservatives considering a vote for Bob Barr “might as well vote for Barack Obama” — the LP has issued a press release with harsh words for the GOP and its leadership.

Libertarian Party spokesperson Andrew Davis said that Boehner’s comments “reflect the same fallacy of thought that has put America in its current situation, with neither Republicans or Democrats offering the solutions voters want to hear.”

Davis also said Boehner’s comments were “a symptom of the same delusion that cost Republicans control in 2006.”

  1. Not bad and I am glad to see more frequent media releases. Now we have to ask are they getting picked up.

  2. Actually, John Boehner is correct. A vote for Barf is also a vote for the establishment, so it really doesn’t matter which of the 3 bozos you vote for.

  3. Bob Barr is not trying to win the male vote while McCain pursues the feminist vote (women and feminists are not the same thing). Barr is missing a big opportunity to climb out of his 2% hole.

Could it be that Barr, like McCain, is terrified of feminist wrath?

Doesn’t he understand that men, even Democrats, will vote for any man who has the spine to oppose the NOW?

I support Barr so far…but that Zogby online poll was garbage. He never had 6% national support offline and he doesn’t have double digit support in any state yet (according to any offline poll).

  4. “McCain pursues the feminist vote”

Oh? Jack…I’m not seeing that happening. Either that, or he’s trying, and failing miserably.

  5. Ugh, the headline gave me a visual it will take weeks to purge…

  6. Well, Davis hits the talking points correctly in perfect boring vanilla fashion, even if he doesn’t mention the one about a wasted vote is one for the major parties because then nothing gets any better.

Perhaps the more edgy approach would be to say, “Of course Barr denies McCain votes, because McCain is a poor excuse of a candidate and has done nothing to earn them! Perhaps if McCain brought the GOP back to the future with a more traditional GOP campaign on what the GOP used to stand for, then he might get better results…or it could simply be that the GOP is slowly dying from the self-inflicted lethal illness of neoconsveratism.”

  7. Glad to see Paulie appreciates the titular arts.

  8. Heh heh. He said titular.
